SEO. Social Media and a Book to help you out!

So I have been on my share of business conventions where there is a listing of speakers who’s subject they are going to speak about can pique your curiosity. So you want to see them, right? Even if it’s on a subject you have knowledge of. You want to pick up some tips and info that you may not have heard of before so you can help your clients. So I went to one recently, the lineup was great but I wanted to hear a guy talk about social media and seo because that is what I do. I listened what he told the mostly unwashed audience about his sage advice on social media and seo. What a load of B.S. this guy spouted.

Small Business and Social Media. Take advantage of these free ideas to be seen online!

Socialmedia

I use Meetup groups to promote my business on a personal level. I love the fact that I can talk one on one with people and get to know them on that personal level and find out about them as a person and as a business. I have made quite a few business contacts going to those meetups and recieved quite a few jobs out of those business meetings. How? For me,  I show that once you provide value and solve a need and convey good feelings and show benefits, you’ll get some taste for your business.

I’ve been right about your posting habits! You don’t post and you suffer. Thanks HubSpot! You validate one of my issues!

I’ve been known for being a wisea** in my 20 plus years of radio being a sidekick. Mostly it was because I was usually right debating the host and the host would get steamed (pretend for the listeners..lol) for me being right. I wasn’t mean spirited even to the callers when they chimed in, but usually they took the good natured abuse because they were wrong on an issue. We wouldn’t let the right one’s on the air, that would make it boring. You gotta have conflict to make it fun..lol

Social Media and the B.S. that is out there.

Seriously, this is how I feel sometimes when people start talking about how much they know about social media. This is what I hear a LOT. “Yeah, I know how to use Facebook and Twitter to help a business out” Really? How? “Oh, I just tell my friends what I am doing or post something about the next big party going on and I use that for the business so it will make them popular also” Huh? What? You are saying WHAT? THAT is what is helping a business out? Wow. Unless they are giving away drinks and it’s a bar, I don’t think that is going to work.
